Plan To Succeed
There is an adage out there: “Fail to plan. Plan to fail.”
This is so true when it comes to your results in the gym.
Most people this time of year are starting to fall out the gym, not because they had bad intentions at the beginning of the year, but because there was no set plan for them and they found other, “more important” things to fill in the time. Or the weather outside is just so horrible and getting to the gym is simply not an option, and they end up cancelling their memberships just because they are not using the gym any more.
The people that are still at it, have a plan that they set out for themselves and have fallen into a very good routine. But don’t fret! It’s never too late. This week I am going to give you guys some really easy steps to implement so that you can plan to succeed in 2018 with your fitness goals in a set of three simple guidelines.
And here they are:
Set a time frame of six months and state what you want to accomplish six months from now. Now break that down into smaller steps (month to month), and then even further (week to week). By this I mean workout plans. I like to use a three-month test window and every three months I have a test month where I do the same routine and see how much stronger I am compared to the previous one.
Don’t reinvent the wheel. One of my favourite places to go to get new workout programs is bodybuilding.com some of the stuff there is good. You need to keep your workouts fresh, not because you are “shocking your system” but falling into a routine is not a good thing as it will become boring and you start to lose all your hard work.
Keep your workout plans flexible, not rigid. This is so important as we cannot control what life throws at us. For example, I am going away for two and half weeks on Thursday and I probably won’t have access to a gym setting at that time. But I can do other things while I am away. I don’t have to stay with my program as if I was still here, I can go for long hikes with my camera, or go for swims (real swims not dog paddling). So, I’m always active.
If you are having problems with doing these three simple guidelines (I sometimes do) we can help you as we already have some very effective workout programs already set up for you that follows these specific guidelines. All you have to do is contact us and let us do the work for you.
